Notarial Services
The Embassy of Rwanda in Cairo validates all legal documents for Rwandans and non-Rwandans who reside in the jurisdiction that it covers; i.e Libya, and Algeria.
For documents issued in the Embassy’s jurisdictions, only documents bearing the hosting country’s stamp form their respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs are legally acceptable at the Embassy.
Below are the notarial services of the Embassy:
1° authentication of deeds;
2° authentication of signatures;
3° certification of document authenticity;
4° certification of the conformity of a copy to the original;
5° issuance of copies of the deeds they have drawn up;
6° issuance of other notarial deeds provided by Law.
NB: Before being used in Rwanda, deeds certified or authenticated by the Embassy shall be approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
If you need your document(s) notarized, the following requirements must be submitted to the Embassy in full.
REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCUMENTS ISSUED IN RWANDA
The documents are required to have a signature and stamp from a notary public to verify to the authorities in Rwanda that the relevant checks have been carried out.
• We require that the documents are then further authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as it is the only competent authority to issue a stamp in Rwanda and to confirm validity of the notary’s signature and stamp.
• Photocopy of applicant issued ID and proof of residency in Egypt.
• Photocopy of representative issued ID.
• Application letter addressed to the Ambassador requesting for the Embassy notary. (Please include a valid physical address in Egypt).
• Proof of Payment of 250 EGP into the Embassy’s Bank account with details below:

• Letter of Power of Attorney MUST include full contact information i.e. address, telephone and email of the principal (person giving the power) and of the nominee(s) (person receiving the power).
• Application letter addressed to the Ambassador requesting for the Embassy notary. (Please include a valid physical address in Egypt).
• A copy of the applicant passport
• A copy of the applicant Rwandan ID (if applicable)
• A copy of the representative Rwandan ID
• Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement)
• Proof of parental/kinship responsibility (if applicable)

• Seal from local notary on your Power of Attorney document
